Mothers' Day Celebration... How I celebrated it.

First of all, even though the actual date has passed, we are still mesmerized by the mood of it; therefore permit me to say happy mothers'day to all mothers, expectant mothers and mothers-to-be.  But the question now becomes, who is a mother? A mother is first of all a woman, even though not all women are mothers. A mother is not just one who biologically births a child; but also one who cares, nurtures, loves, trains, guides and brings up a child.
By the special Grace od God, I am mother of two most beautiful children. A boy and a girl. Having been preggnant and visited the birth theatre room (Yes! I am a proud C.S birth Mother) twice, I can proudly say that been a mother is no mean feat. It's a full-time, lifetime job. You are a nurse, an inspector, a laundry-woman, a teacher, and so on... This makes the responsibilities and job of motherhood very demanding and tasking. Hence the need to celebrate all mothers in a very special and elaborate way.

Here in Nigeria, many church denominations including mine celebrated their mother last week sunday (i.e 31st March, 2019). I even got two surprise gifts from my wonderful husband (on behalf of himself and the children), and my dear younger sister whom God also made a mother this year as well, having birthed her first child two months ago. On my own part, I treated my family to a delicious, sumptuos  meal of white rice with chicken sauce and salad. Later that day, I and my family drove downtown to visit my ageing mother and extend our celebrations and love to her in our own little way.

I look at my kids as their mother and I am overwhelmed with joy, as well as humbled at the fact that it pleased God to bless me with the gift of them everyday. Plus the fact that I never take lightly my job and role as a mother in their lives and I intend by God's grace to do an excellent job at that. To every awaiting mother or future mothers, I say, it is a great privilege and joy to carry your little one in your arms and watch them grow. There is no joy as great as that under the sun! It is sincere prayer that you all and indeed everyone who desires this blessing may soon experience this immeasurable joy of motherhood and reaps its wonderful fruits on a daily basis. Amen.
